  • #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage

    Happy Hump Day, Lovelies.

So how about that Kim K marriage fail?

I know, I know. WHY in the bloody H-E-Double Hockey Sticks is everyone still talking about Kim Kardashian and her fake TV wedding?

Because it's funny. Let's face it... if you are going to make millions off of a fake a** wedding, you better be ready to endure some (semi)harmless joking around it.

I have to admit, I totally jumped on this train when I saw it because, well, it was funny.

There is a new Twitter trend, as I am sure you are all aware, called "Things Longer than Kim's Marriage." Some of the most popular responses?

    -- the wedding

--Taylor Swift's speech before Kanye took the microphone

--The pause that Dora does when she asks a question

--The Amount of time a Defense against the Dark arts teacher lasts at Hogwarts.

    --Her last name

We NEED your input Lovelies. It's hump day and we all need a good laugh at a millionairesse's expense. What are some other things that are longer than Kim's marriage??

    This post, perhaps?

  • My Work-Appropriate Ladybug Halloween Costume

Lovelies,I LOVE Halloween. I think it is so much fun to dress up and decorate to brighten my mood as the rain returns after summer (FYI, I live in Seattle). But here's the deal... I work at a tutoring center as a math and English teacher for little kids. Let me tell you, it is REALLY hard to find a costume for adult females that don't look like Julia Roberts would have donned at the beginning of Pretty Woman.

So I made my costume, DIY style... sortof. I made the skirt, bought the wings and antennae for $8 at Target, and the rest of it (the top, sweater, leggings, belt, and shoes) were already in my closet.

What I love about it is that it is work-appropriate to be around kids and it is something that totally reflects my everyday style (minus the wings and antennae, of course).

I'm not sure how weell you can see it in the picture, but I finished off the look with some sparkly eye shadow, red glitter dots on the corners of my eyes, and false lashes.

What do you think of my (semi) DIY costume, Lovelies? Are any of you making your own costumes as well?

  • My UnProm. What I did instead!

Yes, another Prom entry. But this one is different! I didn't actually go to my Prom. With all the drama that comes with putting groups together, planning all the dinner, afterparty, blah blah blah... and trying to find a group that wants to stay sober (the most difficult task of all at my high school)... I decided it wasn't worth it. Instead. I dressed up (in a $20 find from Gadzookes) and hung out wiht two of my best friends from a different school!

We had the best Un-Prom ever! We had dinner at Olive Garden (yum!) and since my friend is a photographer, we went to a playground and had a great time taking pictures! There was no pressure, no stress, and we got some fun shots out of it!

I am the blonde girl. The other girl was a good friend of mine in highschool (we haven't really kept in touch).

The boy is one of my good friends (still is), who is a very talented photographer.

This is right outside the Olive Garden. It was a beautiful sunny day!

This is us playing at the park and taking random pictures. It was just a lot of fun.

  • Fashion Advice Free for All

    Hello Lovelies!

I am enlisting the help of every lovely lady (or gentleman) on lovelyish to help me find a dress for my 21st birthday.

I would like to stay on a budget, under $100, but if I fall in love with a dress, I might make an exception.

My style is very classy chic and very feminine. I am really into florals right now, but I also live in Seattle, and the chances of a floral print being appropriate are unlikely, since I generally reserve florals for sunshine.

Being that I will most likely be going out with my boyfriend and friends for dancing at clubs and such, I do want to be a bit sexy, though not slutty. I love the idea of a sparkly or beaded dress to really pop out in the crowd. I love neutrals, but being that it is my 21st-- bold colors might be more appropriate! I have looked a red dress in particular.

Anyone have any ideas where I might find this elusive dress??

What did you wear for your 21st birthday, Lovelies??
